Yoga is an ancient practice that entails all aspects of life. The practice includes movement, yogic breathing and an emphasis on being present. All these together create the opportunity of being present to your body and to your emotional life. This is why yoga is considered a practice at the crossroad of the body and mind.
Yoga for Renewal is a style of therapeutic yoga that you can practice in a small group (8 participants at the most) or in a private or semi-private class. It is first and foremost a place to go back to yourself. It is the ideal practice if you want to go deeper in your wellness journey.
Two things characterize Yoga for Renewal. First, you will practice a unique style of yoga that I learned from my teacher, Aline Frati, for 14 years in Paris. Yoga for Renewal is both a gentle and a deep yoga practice. The breath is the key. I guide you, all along the class, and make sure that you breathe deeply, fully and in coordination with the movements of your limbs. While you breathe deeply and fully, you reset your physical, mental and emotional rhythms to their natural state. You feel a deep relaxation which is necessary to any healing process. You become aware of emotions and feelings that have been forgotten or suppressed. In this journey, you reconnect with parts of yourself that have been left aside. You feel more whole.
Yoga for Renewal is for everybody, whether you are young or in your 90’s, healthy or going through an illness, a marathon runner or a person with a disability.
The other thing that characterizes Yoga for Renewal is the healing circle. Before and/or after the yoga practice, I invite you to make a circle with the other participants where you are invited to share what you feel. I may use Gestalt therapy to help you verbalize what your truth is in the present moment. Saying who we are, without being scared of our own personal story, is one of the most powerful tool to reach more wellness.
The combination of both the yoga practice and the healing circle makes Yoga for Renewal a deep self-care experience, an experience of unity and authenticity with yourself and with others, that brings more satisfaction and aliveness in your life.
