Yoga for Renewal is a form of yoga therapy designed by Elisabeth Perucca, an Atlanta-based certified yoga therapist. It is a one-of-a-kind healing modality that Elisabeth designed out of her own life’s experience.
Yoga therapy is a complementary medicine, still in its infancy. It’s the art of using yoga for the sole purpose of helping a person find their way toward improved health and wellbeing. It is usually taught in private classes or small group classes.
Yoga for Renewal helps you deepen your healing journey with two components—a unique yoga practice that Elisabeth Perucca learned from her teacher, Aline Frati (photo below) who passed away in 2018, and a safe space to speak your truth.
Elisabeth teaches a yoga practice that helps a student listen to their body and dissolve repetitive patterns of fear and anxiety that come from childhood and get fixed in the body in the form of pain. The practice of the deep breathing combined with simple yoga poses and slow movements as well as her quality of presence are essential in the healing process.
Each Yoga for Renewal class starts and/or ends with a circle where you are invited to answer a self-reflective question.
Thanks to both the yoga practice and the healing circle, Yoga for Renewal allows you to relax deeply, develop your capacity to listen to your body, dissolve patterns of fear and anxiety, become aware of your true feelings and shed that which is not serving you anymore.
The most beautiful thing about Yoga for Renewal is that it is for everybody—those who are young, people in their 90’s or those who are in wheelchairs.
Elisabeth is an IAYT-Certified (C-IAYT) Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500) with Yoga Alliance. The yoga therapy components of her teaching are based on her IAYT certification, not derived from her status as an RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance Registry.
